In 1983 a demo called Shakespear In Amerika was recorded in Rupert Ziegler's bedroom at Victoria Mansions, West Hampstead. We did have the help of the Island Mobile parked outside in the street several floors below, manned by the estimable Barry Sage. The song was was the combination of Rupert’s beautiful piano melody, with lyrics by KY Mckay, lead singer of Albania, and some narrative from Mr. Shakespeare voiced by Marcus Kirby. Everybody loved it and these photographs relate the fun we had trying to publicise and celebrate it. Later a proper studio recording was made, but it lost some of the charm and atmosphere of the original. Nothing was released, but you can hear the demo here..
